Facsimile of Recruiting Notice  ·  Facsimile of Recruiting Notice used in 1797-8-9 during the period of threatened War with France. Mr. FP Todd, of National Archives, says records show that this was used in connection with the recruiting of 12 emergency regiments of a possible conflict with France. From the service records of the officers named on the poster, this particular one was used between January 1799 and June 1799.
