THE COAST GUARD LANDS THE BRITISH MARINES - Down the ramps, through the surf and up the beach dash Royal British Marines from US Coast Guard-manned landing craft during final amphibious maneuvers on the Coast of North Africa. The Brittains came in aboard a Coast Guard-manned assault transport. Coast Guard landing craft, like these, struck the Coast of France in the initial liberation waves on D-Day.
