COAST GUARDSMEN LINK FRENCH, BRITISH RAILWAYS - As a Coast Guard-manned LST nears the French Coast, Coast Guardsmen prepare to connect the rails mounted on the vessel's ramp to a land track. When the union is completed, freight cars which have been ferried from England will roll easily onto the shore, ready for use on the Army Transportation Corps' vast rail network feeding supplies to Allied armies on the Western Front.
