MEMBERS OF A MORTAR CREW are about to lob a shell into the Japanese positions on Guadalcanal. Man at right is removing another shell from its case while men in the background are handing up more. These mortars are very effective and are usually well up toward the front lines. Guadalcanal - November 1942
