GASOLINE BEING RUSHED TO OTHER ALLIGATORS AT FRONT LINES: Loading gasoline on an amphibian tractor, known as Alligator, on the beach preparatory to taking it up the Piva Trail in a caravan of Alligators carrying supplies, food, ammunition and water to front line troops. The gas is for tractors deep in the jungle engaged in trail-breaking work. In the background of the pix can be seen Cape Torokina, jutting out into the sea.
