LANDING CRAFT AT WORK: Pictured at this South Pacific dock are nearly all the types of landing craft used in amphibious operations by Marines. Drawn up on the mole are three new type landing barges used to transport heavy equipment, tanks, trucks and guns. On the deck of each is a tank lighter, knows as an LCT. At far right foreground, tied up to one of the big craft is an infantry landing barge used for landing troops.
