Pyramid of the Sun, Teotihuacan

     The Pyramid of the Sun sits to the east of the Avenue of the Dead. The Pyramid is 738 feet (220 meters) at its base and 210 foot (65 meters) in height. It has five tiers, with a single stairway up it's front. The pyramid has a total of 248 steps to the summit. It is estimated that there is three million cubic tons of adobe and rubble on which it is built with. It is the third largest pyramid in the world next to the pyramid at Cholula, Mexico and Cheops in Egypt. (Bahn, 1999) & (Arnold, 1994)
