English Brigades  ·  English brigades. First , the brigade of Collin Halkett. Against the formidable attack of the beautiful and valiant French Cavalry, this English repeat the tactics which have so well served against the cuirassiers of Milhaud. After having short their besiegers, up to the last moment, the gunners shelter themselves under the pieces or protect themselves behind the bayonets of the infantry. The squares are calmly awaiting and shooting, at small intervals thus cutting down entire ranks of horses and hindering the others from advancing. Battle of Waterloo. 9 Panorama of the battle.
